SongQuarters gives you constant updated information on which of the world's Top 500 artists are currently looking for songs. SongQuarters average more than 50 quality leads per month to high-profile, newly signed and developing artists worldwide.
SongQuarters will provide valuable information on the recording status of the world's 500 most successful artists, including which of these are currently looking for songs, and leads for newly signed and developing artists in search of songs.
For example, if you have a song with a specific successful artist in mind, you can search the ArtistTracker (top left of the site) and find information on his or her recording status (if listed among the Top 500 Artists). You can also find out whom you need to contact and listen to some of the artist's songs.
How are the Top 500 artists selected?
The Top 500 comprises the most successful artists of the last 2-3 years, based on the sales charts in the 25 largest music markets in the world (excluding Japan, Brazil and Mexico).
Who provides the information on the Top 500 artists?
The information regarding the artists' recording status comes directly from their A&Rs' or managers' office.
Is the information up-to-date?
The information on the Top 500 artists, including the contact information, is updated at least every 3 months.
What if I have information that differs from what is published at SongQuarters?
If you have any information on the Top 500 artists that differs from what is published on our site, please contact us. We will verify the information provided and, if necessary, we will correct the entry as soon as possible.
Why does it often say "As previous album" for the "Style of music wanted"?
It is often difficult to define what style artists are looking for when preparing an upcoming album. In these cases, it is useful to refer to previous albums, although the direction of an album may be defined as the work on the songs and productions progresses.
What is the difference between "Newly Signed and Developing Artists" and "Miscellaneous Artists"?
"Newly Signed and Developing Artists" are artists who are signed either to a manager and/or an A&R that also works with an artist listed in the Top 500 or artists who are about to release an album that has a high chance of success. The "Miscellaneous Artists" category includes those leads that have been sent to SongQuarters by a third party. SongQuarters does not admit responsibility for the accuracy of the information published in this category.
What important factors should I consider when I submit my material?
Keep in mind that there are a wide range of songwriters and music publishers who are trying to get their songs recorded by well-established artists. Make sure that the material you are submitting is of a good enough quality for the artist you have selected.
Be picky with the material you submit and bear in mind that the quality of the material you send today is the key to getting your material heard in the future. If you regularly send material that is not suitable for the artists you have selected, although of good quality, there is a risk that your material will eventually be ignored. As a general rule, submit no more than 2 to 3 songs per artist. Don't send mp3s or other audio files by e-mail without their approval.
What if the person who is looking for songs does not accept unsolicited material?
Be aware of the fact that, particularly in the music industry in the US,
there are people who only accept material from solicited sources, such as
music publishers or songwriters they are in contact with on a regular
basis. If you send material directly to a person who only accepts
solicited material, it is likely to be disregarded. We recommend that you
contact the person to check whether your material will be accepted.
